Chris has lived in Houston most of his life and attended J. Frank Dobie High School before starting college at San Jacinto College South and Central Campuses. Chris was student body class president at San Jacinto South and President of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. He then transferred to Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University) in San Marcos to gain his bachelor degree in Criminal Justice.
While at SWT, he was an active member of the Theta Tau Chapter of Sigma Chi Fraternity and was honored with the chapter Balfour Award in 1987. He was also a Resident Assistance (RA) and a member of Golden Key Honor Society. Chris, unknowingly met his future wife while at SWT as his signature is in her soroity (ADPi) pledge book….no, neither remembers meeting.
He attended Graduate school at Southwest Texas State and the University of Houston – Clear Lake before earning his law degree from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston. During his third year at Thurgood Marshall, Chris was an intern for the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. Chris has been focusing on Estate Planning Law for almost 22 years.
Chris also has a law enforcement background working as a police supervisor for the City of Bellaire. He is an avid fan of aviation and has been a licensed pilot since 1983, a licensed earned while attending San Jacinto College Central Campus in Pasadena. He has built his own airplane, a Velocity SE, in which he enjoys flying and is a past President of Chapter 12, Houston Chapter Experimental Aviation Association (EAA).
